Post any mechanics that appear in the show here. Keep the discussion lively, but no flaming.
Try to keep the Destiny stuff in the other forum. Astray is okay here. |

On the topic of the Astrays....
Is it ever explained how the Astray Gold Frame Amatu's main weapon the Maga-no-Ikutachi drains energy from Mobile Suits exactly?
I'm assuming it can rechange it's battery with this energy as well? |

... I'm going to take a running leap here and guess that the Maga-no-Ikutachi's technology would actually be similar to that of the Gel Finieto; it might use quantum wireless technology to suck energy from an enemy even when not in contact. _________________ Has no real point of view

| draining energy without touchin is way advanced id say. maybe it works on the theory on magnetism only on the line of magnetic energy so he can somehow just get near and the energy is pulled to him? just a thought. |

Those are all from the Astray mangas; the Astray series coincides with the animated series, and pretty much rides right alonside it; it also fills in a few gaps that are left behind by the series. _________________

To avoid clogging up the speculation thread I'd like to ask a question here about the DRAGOON system.
Exactly what is required to use it? Can anyone do it not just Raww or Muu? |

Providence's mech profile is up now, can't believe i forgot about it..but it really doesn't say anything we don't already know. _________________

I remember reading a reply on the forum stating that Plasma Cannons don't exist in SEED, yet according to the Gundam Official website, the Freedom and Forbiddon are armed with such wepaons.
So the question is who's right: The reply or the website? |

They are Plasma Beam Cannons. How these differ from regular Beam Cannons is something I have yet to discern, although they do seem to be more powerful. My guess is that the overall make-up of the beam is different. I should think that's a question for Mark Simmons and/or Keith Rhee to answer... _________________ Has no real point of view

They don't know; the CE has no explanation as to what beams are composed out of. _________________

I'd be that poster so lemme rephrase that: They don't have TRADITIONAL Plasma Cannons in CE at all. They appear to just be an upgraded beam cannon. For now anyways. |

okay maybe that's not the best wording either. Something other then a beam cannon upgrade.
Like something that fires plasma rounds or something like that.
| Quote: | | and get some plasma guns like F91 had |
I've never seen F91 but I'd assume the mechanics in SEED are a little different?
The person on that topic was asking for plasma guns on Nu Freedom so obvoiusly they think Freedom doesn't have it.
Not cannons and I said GUNS which are different then cannons yes?
Also I editted that out of my post anyways -_-
Someone must have seen it in the ten minutes it was up before I editted it out. |

Well, plasma, by definition, is an ionized gas..now i don't know what that has to do with the cannon and it's level of power, but evidently, it makes a beam stronger, or is used to make a beam by it's lonesome that's stronger.
Now, the F91 had VSBRs, which fire mega particals, so i don't know where "plasma" got into it there. However, VSBRs are extremely powerful, and i think they were wondering if the secret to the rifle's power lyed within some sort of "super charge" it got from a plasma.
If there's one thing everybody agrees on here, it's that plasmas for some reason deal out more damage than conventional beams. "Why"? we'll probably never know, really.."plasma cannons" where virtually non existant in the UC, and nobody really knows what beams are to begin with in the CE, so we can't really go on anything to figure out what a plasma cannon is supposed to be. _________________

hope this post is allowed in this thread...
Are there any official explanation given for the mecha names? (i.e. Strike, Buster, Duel and Blitz) _________________

I think this is the information about Dragoon System
Disconnected Rapid Armament Group Overlook Operation Network System (DRAGOON System)
A unique feature of the Providence Gundam, the DRAGOON System consists of eleven independent beam emitters which can be coordinated to attack targets from several directions at once. While similar in concept to the wired gunbarrels used by the Moebius Zero, the DRAGOON units are controlled via wireless quantum communication, which is immune to the disruptive effects of N-Jammers. Using this system requires superhuman powers of spatial awareness, which are extremely rare among Naturals and Coordinators alike. _________________

the blitz gundam seems a little weeker as the story progressed i mean i find it hard to wrap my mind around that the Blitz's right arm would just be sliced off in one slice. even with the strikes beam sword. now i also noticed that tere wasint much emphasis on the blitz _________________ Misery no longer loves company.
