Or I could reply to the post, it's easier then PMing and it addresses an issue brought up on the topic. It could also help top curb others from posting something alone the same lines since, unfortunately his view's aren't unique. |

Is it just me or is the English Dub's voice actor of Cagalli a lot more effective at that role than the Japanese one?
Because for me, the seiyu for Cagalli was really, really bad. |

Ok so when I started watching destiny back when they were still dubbing the first Eps i thought the voices were so cool until I started watching subs from like ep 24+ and I just got done watching 49 and 50 and well you can definitely tell that in ep 49 of the eng dub when rey says " Kira Yamato, your existence is the only thing i cant forgive" or what ever he says he says it in the most cheesest way ever! and when they do the Rau part when he says "forgive" at the end of that quote that they took a clip from the Seed rather then have the voice actor of Rau re say that part.

I remember that. Rey did sound cheesy and IMO he still continued to sound cheesy in 50 when he's communicating with Kira as if he's trying (and failing) to sound like Rau, it was weird.
In ep 49 his last line becomes "Kira Yamato... You shouldn't have been allowed, (then in Rau's voice) to exist boy." (Just thought I might as well say that.) |

Yeah I agree with you totally on that one he did sound very cheesy on 49 and 50 its unbelievable.

| I actually prefer the dubs to the subs. There are some great voice over actors who have done voice over work for previous Gundam franchises like Brian Drummond for Waltfeld who did Zechs Marquis and Rey Za Burrell has Trowa Barton's voice. I think the dubs were done very well. |

American/English and Japanese are totally different languages. English is spoken in a kind of posh way but that doesnt happen in japanese so it sounds better when the characters scream at each other in animes. The japanese language goes into great detail and so does chinese.
Too bad chinese dubs suck because they don't put enough effort in dubbing. They do the dubbings really fast, as soon as the jap versions come out. But the chinese dubbing for Seed was pretty good. |
