Prologue

C.E. 72


Space. A dark void. In the midst of this dark void, somewhere between the PLANT colonies and the asteroid belt, a lone Nazca-class ship floated through the void of space. Emblazoned on its side were giant letters:

ZAFT SHIP
ELDRIDGE

"Beginning experiment."

The fabric of space shimmered, as a bubble of alternate reality seemed to be attempting to push through into this universe. Electricity arced over this distortion. The arcing increased, both in frequency and power. Soon enough, the distortion was covered with arcs of white electricity.

"Power levels spiking! It's going ... it's off the charts!!"

"Cut power immediately!"

"No good! It's too far gone!"

The distortion began to glow, pulsing with light as bright as a supernova.

"Point of singularity has been created! We're past the point of no return!"

"Schwarzschild wormhole created!"

"Get the data recording as soon as possible!!"

"The Schwarzschild wormhole is unstable! It's already collapsing!"

There was a flash brighter than almost anything that had ever occurred in the universe, save the Big Bang. When the light cleared, there were three objects floating in the void.

Inside the ship, there was an eerie silence.

"Wh-what happened?"

"It was unstable, and collapsed."

"So the singularity was unstable, and the black hole collapsed on itself."

"What are those things out there?"

"They look like ... mobile suits ..."

"It wasn't a black hole. It was a white hole."

The three objects had partially scorched markings on them:

Synopsis

The year is CE 105. For the past thirty years since the end of the Second Valentine War, the Earth Alliance and ZAFT have engaged each other in a cold war, engaging in an arms race and political manoeuvering of smaller nations, using them as substitutes and their lands as proxy battlefields for the struggle between these two powers.

With the signing in CE 76 of the Treaty of Orb, the Earth Alliance and ZAFT have agreed to the restriction of military forces and intervention, both agreeing to slash their militaries down to 60% of their previous strength. Taken in consideration to the huge numbers of both Coordinators and Naturals killed during the two struggles, numbering in the millions, it was meant to allow population growth for the two superpowers. However, in reality, this has led to the rise in demand of mercenaries to fight battles by proxy for the two superpowers in the stead of their conventional military forces, leading to the rise of private military contractors, and a new era in warfare: war by proxy.

It has become the norm and political convenience to employ mercenaries to fight for the two powers, and many mercenary organisations have sprung up to offer their services to the highest bidder.

While the arms race has brought great compliance, considering now that every faction has roughly the same basic equipment as any other faction, the format of war has changed. Now wars are fought by professional soldiers-for-hire, and nations wage proxy wars against each other in lieue of great armies. So it has been for the past thirty years.

Now, in CE 105, something is about to happen that will alter the tide of this war.

Factions
In a war-torn world such as this, there are several factions:

ZAFT: Under the command of Chairwoman Lacus Clyne-Yamato. With the announcement of her Unification Plan to, as she claimed, bring peace to the Earthsphere, she had ZAFT embark on a war of conquest. So locked into achieving eternal peace and wiping out war is she that she has become totally motivated towards this purpose.

Earth Alliance (3 subfactions): Fractured due to internal pressure into its three constituent supernations
Atlantic Federation: Continues to struggle against ZAFT, while using mercenaries to pressure the Eurasian Federation into following their lead.
Eurasian Federation: Preferring to defend their holdings against the hostile ZAFT forces, and raids by the other Earth Alliance factions.
East Asian Republic: In an expansionist phase, their recent efforts have gained them holdings in space, which are defended by their forces, and supplemented by mercenaries. A subtle blemish to this is the desertion of Chao Gai and the entire Qua Sinh Nhat convoy, taking over the old Liangshan base and establishing themselves there as a free port.

Orb: A triumvirate between the nation of Orb, the Junk Guild, and Serpent Tail which have banded together to become something of a power in their own right – the Junk Guild, due to its neutrality in dealing with the two superpowers, have been able to develop powerful devices and mobile weaponry in their own right. Orb provides the materiel and manufactory facilities, and Serpent Tail is the military corporation that handles work from the Orb faction. At this time, they are trying to maintain a check between the two to ensure that neither the Earth Alliance nor ZAFT keep hostilities at a minimum. They act, perhaps self-righteously in the view of some, as the policeman of the Earthsphere.

Republic of Ares: An independent nation that has existed since its founding in CE 23 as an experiment in colonizing other planets. Some time after its founding, the residents chose to secede from Earth, using Mars’ considerable mineral wealth to fuel its secession, and broke all ties with the home planet and declaring itself a Republic. In the decades that followed its seccession from Earth control, the Ares Republic had expanded its territoritory beyond just the planet Mars and into major sections of the Astroid Belt, and all the way to Jupiter. In terms of territorial space, the Ares Republic has a much larger area of control than Earth and the colonies combined. Due to a lack of internal political conflicts and a nonexistent rivialry with foreign nations (there aren't any), the Ares Republic has grown to be a far larger power than originally thought. Its major advantage is that because it has been largely left alone in the previous conflicts between Earth and the colonies, it has the full military advantage that the Earth and PLANT doesnt anymore because of the Treaty of Orb, giving it a greater military power and making it a leading strength in terms of forces, numbers and power.

Liangshan: A collection of deserters and mercenaries, whose sense of warriors’ honour have caused them to band together, particularly after the Qua Sinh Nhat transport convoy took over the old Liangshan base in the Debris Belt, when Admiral Chao Gai decided that he wanted no more part in a corrupt government more interested in conquering and protecting its corrupt officials.

Dramatis Personae
ZAFT
Supreme Chairman Lacus Yamato-Clyne - Visionary leader of PLANT, wishes to unify all of Earth and bring an end to conflict. Is willing to use almost any means necessary to bring her vision to light.

Admiral Kira Yamato-Clyne - Lacus' husband, commander of the ZAFT Home Colonies Defence Force. Is committed to bringing Lacus' vision to light. Old and grizzled, the only person he answers to is the Chairwoman.

Colonel Athrun Zala - PLANT Liaison to the Orb Union, de-facto husband of Cagalli Yula Athha. Constantly bickers with Cagalli, and is still listed as a pilot in ZAFT.

General Andrew Waltfeldt - Commander of ZAFT's earth-based holdings, stationed at ZAFT's Carpentaria base. Spends his days brewing coffee.

Talia Gladys - Having survived the destruction of Messiah, she lives in Aprilius Three with her son.

Captain Flay Yamato - Daughter of Kira and Lacus, the twin of Tolle Yamato who died in a Mobile Suit accident a year ago. Flay blames her father for it because she never believed Tolle was pilot material.

Lieutenant-Colonel Gilbert Gladys - a charismatic, quietly-spoken young officer in the ZAFT military who seems to have the strange affectation of choosing to wear a mask. Is in charge of work being done on the data taken from the Sesquicentennial at the ZAFT research facility the Observatory.

Orb Union
Chief Representative Rondo Mina Sahaku - Named as Cagalli's successor as leader of Orb, Mina has worked hard to maintain stability in Orb, and vigorously defend their holdings both on Earth and in space. Benevolent and democratic, she rules with a gentle hand.

Representative Cagalli Yula Athha - Tempered by the two Valentine Wars, Cagalli has become a veteran in dealing with other nations, and after a successful term as Chief Representative, she has stepped down and accepted the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs. Athrun's de-facto wife.

Mwu La Flaga - Retired, residing in Orb with his wife Murrue Ramius. Works as a civillian pilot.

Murrue Ramius-Flaga - Retired, residing in Orb with Mwu.

Akiha Sahaku - The adopted daughter of Chief Representative Mina Sahaku

Lowe Guele - Head of Orb's Research and Development department.

Kisato Yamabuki - Working with Lowe.

Gai Murakumo - Leader of Serpent Tail, and Orb's preferred military contractor. Has since retired from piloting MS, and is content to simply command.

Kazahana - Has taken over from Gai as chief pilot of Serpent Tail, and pilots a heavily modified Blue Frame.

Earth Alliance
President Nelson Shrub - Moderate right-winged leader of the Atlantic Federation. Although he still possesses a deep dislike of PLANT, he does not let that rule his policies, and works to ensure that the Atlantic Federation stays stable, particularly after the devastation and cost of the two Valentine Wars.

Premier Gao Lao Shi - leader of the East Asian Republic, is popular for his policy of expansionism and claiming neutral territory in space and on Earth as the EAR's own.

Chancellor Abey Busoni - Newly elected leader of the Eurasian Federation, which has taken his nation on a policy of remilitarisation in light of the recent Irktusk war.

Major Helena Green - Nominal field commander of Talon Squad, Helena is a tactical genius with a tendency to listen to the advice of her subordinates. An expert markswoman, she prefers long ranged combat in a Gerbera Tetra.

Sergeant Major Wes Gale - Second in command of Talon Squad and a veteran soldier, Wes is considered the go-to man on the team. His combat experience in the second Valentine war led to his favoring close range combat whenever possible.

Sergeant Kevin Wheldon - Infiltration specialist, prefers using Stamen.

Sergeant Steven Hill - A demolitions expert who doesn't care what he pilots, so long as it's got plenty of weapons. Has requested transfer to a Destroy numerous times after seeing the new model join Talon Squad.

Lieutenant Karen Castillo - A former test pilot assigned to the Destroy EZ project at Goddard base. Karen was reassigned to the elite Talon alongside her copilot in a field test of the design before mass production commenced.

First Lieutenant Jung Ota - The weapons control officer for the prototype Destroy EZ, Jung is noted for both her ice cold control under fire and nearly mother-like concern for her younger pilot.

Colonel Toudou - a skilled Japanese MS pilot in the East Asian forces. Close friends with Bao Xu.

Bao Xu - A quiet, reserved Germanic man with dark hair and an artificial red eye as well as his remaining ice-blue eye. Seems to possess special clearances.

Ares Republic
Duke Van Slanzar de Fanel - Stepped down as the Republic's representative ruler in CE 79. Established a permanent ruling council, and to this day, still mourns the loss of his beloved wife.

Lieutenant-General Miyamoto Fanel - Originally born of the colonies around Earth. One of the surviving first-generation Fanels that travelled to and colonised Mars. A commander of the Republican MS fleet.

Admiral Vorian Fanel - an admiral of the Ares Republic fleet.

Leto Fanel - one of the leading members of the ruling council.

South African Combine
Isaiah Knight - the recently ascended young Precentor-Martial of the Combine, age 26. Was recently under the identity of Anastasius Focht until the real Focht reappeared, supposedly having been escaped from East Asian imprisonment.

Aloysius Knight - the previous Precentor-Martial, and father of the three Knight siblings, Isaiah, Joachim, and Samantha. Stepped down in late CE 105 for his first son Isaiah to assume the mantle of Precentor-Martial. Was previously an EA pilot.


Myndo Waterly – Ambitious Lead Scientist of MSX Project, the lead project for the development and mass-production the South African Combine. Ambitious to the hilt, takes part in governmental intrigue, has a private disdain for the power that the Precentor Martial has yet never uses. Is part of an organization that hopes to create a hegemony that will take over Africa as a whole, and then on through military power.

Admiral Malthus Nonde-Desai – Commander of the South African Navy, ambitious and tenacious, yet careful and calculating. Supports the Precentor Martial to the hilt, usually is in Space commanding the SACS Indomitable, an Assault Carrier. Rumored to be the next in line to lead the South African Combine.

General Victor Steiner-Davion – Commander of the South African Army. Adept and courageous, the right hand man of the Precentor Martial. Usually pilots a heavily customized Nephilim Lesser called “Prometheus”, a downgraded Nephilim with a more balanced mix of weapons, from the front lines.

Lieutenant General Hohiro Kurita – Commander of the Army Group Genyosha. Pilots from the frontlines in a heavily modified Marauder Heavy Assault Mobile Suit (HAMS).

Lieutenant General Phelan Ward – Commander of Army Group Wolf. Pilots from the frontlines in a heavily modified Chimera Medium Mobile suit.

Lieutenant General Vlad Ward – Commander of Army Group Crusader. No relation to Phelan, utterly hates him for his command of Army Group Wolf. Pilots a custom Marauder.

Lieutenant General Jaime Wolf – Commander of Army Group Dragoon. Pilots a customized Chimera.

Lieutenant General Ariana Winston – Commander of Army Group Light Horse. Pilots a custom Chimera.

Lieutenant Colonel Kai-Allard Liao – Commander of the Special Operations Branch Nekakami, the Precentor Martial’s go-to guy when a need for low visibility black ops team is needed, pilots a customized Raven “Yen-Lo-Wang”.

Lieutenant Omi Kurita – Sister of Hohiro and XO of Detachment Serpent of the Nekekami. Pilots a Custom Raven.

Liangshan
Admiral Chao Gai - leader of the EAR Qua Sinh Nhat convoy, and then the mercenary Liangshan faction, chose to desert and take over the abandoned Liangshan base in the Debris Belt and turn it into a free port. His personal ship is the Heavenly King.

Commander Song Jiang - Leader of the military arm of the Liangshan faction, a conscientous officer who gladly supported Admiral Gai's defection. Commands from his personal ship, the Timely Rain.

Lieutenant-Colonel Wu Yong - a brilliant strategist, works as Song Jiang's executive officer on the Timely Rain.

Captain Dai Zong - captain of the fastest (and most advanced) ship in Liangshan's arsenal, the Voiture Lumiere equipped Marvellous Traveller.

Lieutenant Li Kui - a big, muscular man whose nickname is the Black Whirlwind, he pilots a modified Destroy Gundam Black Whirlwind type.

First Lieutenant Mui Thuc Sac - a tomboyish ace MS pilot, she pilots a Noir Windam.

Major Anh Long - an expert marksman, pilots a Slash Zaku Warrior.

First Lieutenant Shi Jin - a skilled martial artist who is known as 'Nine Dragons' for the elaborate tattoos he has covering his body. Pilots the 9-Jacket.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Jin Fuyumoto - a young man specialising in terrestrial warfare. Pilots a white Wild Dagger.

'Mr Mass' - an enigmatic, powerful man who has supplied Liangshan with technology unseen anywhere within the solar system.

Unaffiliated
Shinn Asuka - Somewhat disillusioned by the clash of ideals after the Second Valentine War, he now works as a mercenary and the leader of the Stellar Butterfly group. Has become somewhat of a playboy.

Lunamaria Hawke - Followed Shinn's exit from the ZAFT military, and now works with him as an MS pilot. Is his long-suffering lover, and usually has to hunt him down.

Meyrin Hawke - Spurned by Athrun, she joined up with her big sister and Shinn, as the captain of the Mayu, the Stellar Butterfly group's home ship.

Yzak Joule - Left the ZAFT military, and has begun his own military contractor firm, Joule Military Solutions. Is married to Shiho Joule.

Dearka Elsman - Works with Yzak as second in command of Joule Military Solutions.

Jess Rabble - Editor of the Earthsphere-wide news service "The Solar Times." Still occasionally embarks on dangerous missions, where he is accompanied by Kaite Madigan. Still uses his old Outframe for such missions.

Kaite Madigan - Accompanies Jess whenever he travels to make his own reports. Pilots his old Testament.

Mobile Suit shop

What is different about this RP is that you can continually customise and upgrade your mobile suit. Being mercenaries, you will be able to change your MS as you see fit, and not have to rely upon orders from above.

The nature of the cold war between ZAFT and Earth has become such that actual weapons development technology has stagnated, as constant conflict and budget cuts to arms development has meant that, to get more out of less funding, leaps and bounds have been abandoned in favour of slow advancement and refinement.

As such, what were once experimental weapons and only concepts in CE 74 have become commonplace in CE 105. Civillian advancements such as artificial gravity and solar sails have meant that the bigger picture form of warfare has changed, whereas closer fighting between individual units does not change as much.

Each faction has its own unique item/weaponry, and this proprietary technology is not easily maintained or replicated, so therefore, if you do choose to defect, and that system/weapon is destroyed or runs out of ammunition, it will become useless.

Money in this RP is counted in terms of units. No, you don't need to donate units to me to buy things, you just need to keep track of it.
Please note that all MS comes empty, and that you need to buy weaponry for them.
Old equipment can be sold back for half their original price, rounding up if you have a half-unit.

Each player starts out by picking an MS and arming it - they have 50 units for their primary MS, and 40 units for secondary character MS (up to a maximum of 4 characters total).
When you buy new things for your MS, I ask that you please put post your updated profile so that I can just cut and paste - makes my job easier.

Security clearance - some items require security clearance to use, which means you must be well regarded by that faction before they let you at their latest toys. These will be marked with a *.

MS Frame upgrades: If players so wish, they have the chance to upgrade their MS from an existing mass-production unit to a higher performance GUNDAM unit. All armaments and systems are transferred across, the actual cost itself is in buying the actual frame and refitting the frame with all of the equipment transferred across from the old units. If the MS already has an upgrade that your prior MS has, then subtract the price of that upgrade from the frame price. For instance, if you have a Gundam head, subtract 15 points from the price of the upgrade; similarly, if the MS has an extended battery, subtract its price from the upgrade price.

Hard points (HP): Each MS can only mount so much equipment. Hard points represent this, and each MS can only mount as much weaponry/upgrades as they have HP. All weaponry and shields take up one HP unless otherwise stated. Similarly, if a system requires a HP, it will also be noted. When writing your MS loadout, please state what goes where. Of course, you don't have to fully load up your MS, since obviously, the less equipment it has, the faster and more maneuverable it is. HP can be moved around, so that its in places other than specified, but only on the actual MS itself.

Glossary
Melee
Armour Schneider: A small anti-beam coated assault knife that is low-cost, and easy to use and store. Can be used as a thrown weapon.
Close combat weapon: Can be any type of weapon; sword, spear, pole-arm, club, etc. Inflicts simple, brute force damage. Anti-beam coated. Two sizes, normal or large.
Heat weapon: Has a thermo-regulated edge, point, etc that allows the weapon to cleave through armour with relative ease. Not anti-beam coated.
Beam boomerang: A thrown anti-beam coated weapon that can emit a short beam projection. Can also double as a beam dagger in a last resort position.
Anti-ship sword: A heavy two-handed close-combat weapon with a beam edge/point to allow for armour-piercing strikes. Designed to destroy objects larger than a mobile suit. The physical blade is not anti-beam coated.
Beam weapon: A weapon that projects a beam blade. Can come in almost any shape or size.
HF weapon: A weapon with a high-frequency vibrating blade that allows it to cut through phase shift armour and lightwave barriers with ease.

Ranged
Grenade: Explosive thrown weapon. Comes in pairs for each HP.
Solid-state gun: Anything that fires bullets. Can come in any form or shape, ie rifle, assault rifle, shotgun, rifle, submachinegun, pistol, etc
Solid-state high ROF gun: Anything that fires bullets at a high speed. Can come in many forms, ie gatling gun, minigun, etc
CIWS: Small caliber high ROF weapons commonly mounted on MS head/upper chest. Does not take up HP.
Long-ranged solid-state gun: High-precision, high caliber long range solid-state weapon; includes sniper rifles. No HP usage if hand-held.
Missile pod/launcher: Medium to long range weapon that launches single/multiple missiles at a target.
Bazooka: High-powered, explosive munitions launcher, with emphasis on destructive power of each round. Two types – anti-MS and anti-armour; grenade launchers also fall under this category. No HP if hand-held.
Artillery: Long range large-caliber round launcher
Railgun: High-speed solid munitions linear gun
Beam gun: Charged particle projector, ie beam rifle, beam pistol, etc
Beam gun (high ROF): High ROF beam weapon, such as a beam machinegun or a beam scatter gun.

Beam cannon: High powered beam weapon, traditionally mounted on MS body/back, needs an extended battery at least
Lohengrin Launcher: A mobile suit scale version of a Lohengrin positron blaster cannon. Extremely power-intensive, one shot will drain the battery completely of any mobile suit firing it. Requires an extended battery to use.
Gunbarrel: Wired remote weapon with two beam guns (2 shots each), 2 per MS; their mode of attack entails detaching from the carrier, manoeuvering to make their shots, and then returning to the carrier to recharge

Positron Rifle: Single-shot, scaled down version of the positronic blasters used in many war ships, redesigned for use as an easily producible weapon, possessing roughly 30% of the power of those seen in war ships. Power draining, although not as draining as the Lohengrin Launcher.
Positron cannon: Long-ranged, single-shot, scaled down version of the positronic blasters used in many war ships, redesigned for use as an easily producible weapon, possessing roughly 75% of the power of those seen in war ships. Power draining, although not as draining as the Lohengrin Launcher.
Plasma Gun: Uses doped Tritium or Deuterium Pellets to create a channeled charge of plasma that can punch through anti-beam coating, and with some effort, lightwave barriers; limited by ammo count.

Basic shield: A basic, anti-beam coated shield. Has 2 extra HP on the underside.
Shield with built-in close combat weapon: Shield with a basic close combat weapon built into it, either to be drawn or extended from the shield. Has one extra HP on the underside
Shield with built-in solid-state weapon: Shield with a one-clip ranged solid-state weapon built into it; reloadable; has one extra HP on the underside

Mirage Colloid stealth system: Generates a field of colloid particles around the object using the system that bends electromagnetic waves around it, rendering the object effectively invisible. However, the stealth system can only be used so long, and with all other systems idling, lasts roughly 90 minutes. Useless inside battle; mutually exclusive with the virus spreader
Mirage Colloid virus spreader: A specialised system that utilises a colloid-particle borne virus delivery system to scramble mobile suit data and take control of enemy mobile suits. However, close proximity is required, and the system uses up a large amount of power; mutually exclusive with the mirage colloid stealth system; requires an extended battery to use; requires a HP
Geschmeidig Panzer system: A mirage colloid manipulation system, consisting of a pair of pods and an armoured shell mounted on the MS, that bends beam shots at different angles. It is primarily a defensive system, designed to bend beams away, but a skilled pilot can use it to bend his own beams at different attack angles. Also able to deflect water particles, allowing for unparalleled mobility underwater; requires 2 HPs, one for the armoured shell, and another for the pods.
Voiture Lumiere: A special propulsion system that allows for bursts of incredible speed, creating after-images, can recharge other Voiture/Aimant Lumiere users' batteries from a distance, mutually exclusive with Aimant Lumiere, needs an extended battery; requires a HP
Mars Jacket: A special full-body armour, incorporating a two beam cannon, two close combat weapons, and a lightwave barrier.
Assault Shroud: An external armour plate system fixed over the Duel Gundam, incorporating anti-beam coated armour plates, a railgun and missile pod.
Gun combination system: The Buster's two main guns have been upgraded to be able to combine together, forming a larger gun with increased range and firepower
Transformable: The MS has the ability to transform into another form
Deuterion beam system: Mounted in the MS's head is a device that allows a properly equipped ship to execute a long-distance battlefield battery recharge
Trikeros offence/defence system: A shield mounting an extra HP and three lancer darts. Exclusive to the Blitz.
Core Fighter system: The MS is composed of a 4-component modular design involving a chest flyer, a core fighter, a silhouette pack and a leg flyer. The four can disconnect and reconnect from each other in mid-air and midbattle at the pilot's discretion. The core fighter is basically armed, carrying only machineguns.
Extra HP: The MS has been fitted with an extra hard point. Can be taken up to twice.
Combat Drugs: The pilot has at their disposal combat performance-enhancing drugs, taken either before the battle or via triggerable intravenous dispensers built into the cockpit. Repeated use of these drugs are known to cause addiction and powerful crashes post-battle
Weapon customisation: Significant changes have been made to the weapon to alter it significantly from its original appearance, giving it enhanced performance/power in combat. Applied to weapons
Beam-eater armour: A special defence system that integrates into the mobile suit's power system. Absorbs the energy from beam impacts and feeds energy into the battery, replenishing it. Negative Phase Shift field generator: Temporarily generates a short-ranged field around the MS and it's surroundings, which counteracts all magnetic fields around it, including close combat Beam weaponry, Mirage Colloid technology, DRAGOON technology, and Phase Shift armour; needs an extended battery at least, draws a large amount of energy upon activation
Electromagnetic shock generator: Automatically upgrades all of the MS's physical parts (weapons included) to pass on high-voltage shocks to whatever they are touching, can damage PSA, makes the usier immune to shocks, average 10 shocks on a non-upgraded battery.
Mobile Armour form: The MS is able to transform into a higher-speed, more aerodynamic form, which can attain speeds higher than most top MS speeds.
Tail attachment: Adds an extra back HP that does not count towards the extra HP, Forbidden only
Sub wing: Adds a rideable sub wing with 4 HP, but uses up the two claw HP (Raider only)
Subflight lifter: A detachable flight platform that can either be docked to the MS, be ridden upon by the MS, or controlled via remote.
HiMAT system: A high mobility mode that uses up more power for a brief period of time. Also grants atmospheric flight capability
Multiple-target targeting system An AI assistance system that allows the pilot to target more than one enemy at a time in real time.
Lightcraft drive: Allows for an assisted speed boost from a ship fixture.
Hypersonic flight: The MS, in MA mode, is able to achieve flight speeds of mach 5, much faster than most standard MS or transformable MS.
STOMPA mode: An intermediate transformation mode between MS and MA mode that allows the machine to retain most of the speed that it has in MA mode with the maneuverability it has in MS mode, suitable for low altitude aerial combat
Photon recharge system: A system that uses light to create electricity. Energy is constantly being recharged, albeit at a slow rate. However, the MS can expend some power to activate 'overdrive' mode, allowing energy recharge to go much faster, but at the cost of being unable to use offensive systems until it is switched back to normal mode; requires an extended battery to use

if u want to be technical, Martian isnt a ethnic background, it's like saying I am American, but I am Chinese too. Ethnicity means what kind of person u r born of really not completely define by where r u born.

Please note that this timeline covers the events post Gundam SEED DESTINY up until the present time. For what happened prior, please refer to the original timelines at either Gundam Official or in the Cosmic Era wikipedia entry.

CE 74

June
During the political chaos as Dullindal and many of his followers were in Messiah when it was destroyed, Terminal moves in and Lacus Clyne assumes power, becoming a member of the PLANT Supreme Council.

The Stargazer returns from near Venus, traveling using its Voiture Lumiere as a solar sail and using the sun to propel it back to Earth in a 27 day voyage.

Van Fanel returns to Mars.

At this time, the Earth Alliance begins to weaken as the border territories of the various constituent members begin to rebel, seeing a chance to profit under the power vacuum.

CE 75

The Earth is wracked with civil wars as various nations try to break free of the weakened Earth Alliance constituent superpowers.

The Kingdom of Scandinavia and Orb both declare neutrality, as other nations appeal to these two nations, Earth-based, which were largely unaffected by the Second Valentine War. They stay neutral and isolated, refusing to take part militarily, much for fear of causing unwanted results.

The children of Van Fanel are born. Mariemeia dies during birth, devestating Van who swears to never leave Mars ever again.

CE 76

The Treaty of Orb is signed by the Earth Alliance and PLANT, the notable Lasting Peace clause calling for a huge 60% reduction in military assets to a self-defence force, and the prohibition of using nuclear weaponry and other weapons of mass destruction. Similar to the Potsdam Declaration of WWII, it also called for the discrediting, and abandonment of those warmongers who had pushed the Earth Alliance into the Second Bloody Valentine War. War criminals, such as those who had run the Alliance slave labour camps, or those who had directed the secret human research laboratories, were to be caught, tried, and punished. Blue Cosmos and other paramilitary organizations are banned as under the label of extremist organizations. Borders were to be set status quo ante bellum, reset to their borders before the war. Naturally, this one is not well enforced because of the massive changes in borders between the end of the war and the signing of the treaty.

As a result of the Lasting Peace clause, OMNI Enforcer is officially dissolved as military limitations imposed by the Treaty of Orb strains its forces and cracks between member powers of the Earth Alliance appear.

Because Mars was unofficially involved in the second Valentine war, the Martian Imperium was unaffected by the treaty of Orb and continues to expand and build up its military power. The imperium was disbanded and a new power was created after Van Fanel stepped down as representative leader. The Mars nation was now called the Ares Republic, lead by a high council.

Lacus Clyne, by popular demand, becomes Supreme Chairman of PLANT, and vows to bring an end to war once and for all.

Taking advantage of the weakness of ZAFT, the Atlantic Federation invades the Oceanic Union, attempting to regain some of its old territory. Refusing to stand for this, ZAFT forces, as well as OU forces, fight valiantly but are defeated by the numerically superior Atlantic Federation.

CE 77

Due to the results of the treaty, fractures in the Earth Alliance begin to show, as each superpower begins to turn inwards and try to quell the civil wars wracking each nation. The Atlantic Federation first, as it is the least unaffected by the civil wars. No other nations have tried to break away, save Cuba, which reverts to being an independent island-state.

The Eurasian Federation is the heaviest hit, as old cultural values and enemies rise up again, the Federation fracturing as nations begin warring with each other.

The East Asian Republic, among the various rebelling nations, is forced to deal with the sudden growth in military strength of Tibet, which secedes and attempts to form its own nation. Similarly, Taiwan also separates and tries to form itself into an independent nation.

CE 78

The Six Week War, or the East Asia-Taiwan War, the first war by proxy, is fought between Taiwanese insurgents and mercenaries hired by the East Asian Republic to get around the Treaty of Orb’s military limiting clause.

Other member nations of the Earth Alliance also begin hiring mercenaries after seeing the success of using mercenaries to fight for them, arming them with their standard military issue equipment.

The start of the first post Second Valentine War baby boom. Despite all the fighting, the birth rate exceeds the death rate in most territories on Earth and in space. Coordinator birth rate still remains the same.

The Ares Republic suppresses rebellian in the astroid belt, the first of many attempted rebellians. The Republic rolls out the first of many new Mobile Suits and deploys the first of new classes of Battlestars.

CE 79

A new set of wars begin to break out, and the winner is usually now dictated by who has more money to hire more mercenaries. To this end, some nations turn to more illicit methods of making money. Those states in South East Asia still rebelling against the East Asian Republic turn to illicit substances, effectively becoming drug states.

Seeing this trend happening, ZAFT begins to interfere, acting as the “policeman” of the Earthsphere, dispatching its own ex-ZAFT mercenaries to aid in those sides that Colonel Yamato, and by extension, Chairman Clyne, believe to be the just side. Many resent this strategy by PLANT and believe it is a subtle way to shove PLANT’s views, values, and opinions down their throats.

The Eurasian Federation begin outlining a plan to increase their space assets, involving creating their own group of colonies at L3.

CE 80

The periodical “Soldier of Fortune” begins running. It is highly successful as something that keeps track of developments in the mercenary world.

The EAR, contracting the DSSD to help it, begins colonising Mercury and Venus. They begin by sending a solar-powered SHPL station towards Venus.

CE 81

As fighting begins to engulf the world again, albeit on a smaller scale, Chairman Clyne comes before the people of PLANT, calling for the passing of an enabling act, the Law to Remedy All Conflict In The Earthsphere, which would give her the power to pass laws without the agreement or approval of the PLANT Council, rendering them nothing but advisors, and allow her to sign treaties without the need for ratification by the Supreme Council.

CE 82

Hunted down by a mysterious organization, the Junk Guild are forced to find sanctuary in Orb, and as part of the terms of their settling in Orb, they are amalgamated into the island nation, becoming part of Orb. Similarly, Serpent Tail sign an exclusive contract to work only for Orb, and its numbers swell with many coming in from the Orb military.

A freshly invigorated coalition of forces from the Eurasian Federation and the Atlantic Federation see this as a power-ploy by Orb to increase its R&D capacity, as well as an excuse to bolster its “auxiliary” military forces, and attack. The Orb War begins.

Chief Representative Cagalli Yula Athha, through her liaison to PLANT, Colonel Athrun Zala, appeals to PLANT for aid. They dispatch a force of military advisors lead by Admiral Yamato.

CE 83

End of the Orb War. The Earth Alliance forces are repelled, and PLANT and Orb sign a treaty of alliance.

The marriage of Admiral Kira Yamato and Supreme Chairman Lacus Clyne. It is well publicized and globally broadcast. Among those present are Chief Representative of Orb Cagalli Yula Athha, members of the Ares Republic noble houses, and many notable figures of the day. It is rumored that Van Fanel secretly appeared to witness the event.

Mercenary forces enter northern Vietnam, and fighting breaks out in northern Vietnam as the East Asian Republic attempts to expand its territories. As EAR forces begin to win and make breakthroughs, the Equatorial Union, already in great debt, agrees to cede the northern portion of Vietnam to the EAR. The EAR Defence Force annexes northern Vietnam.

Later that year, civil war breaks out between Eurasian Federation forces and the Pakistani Independence Army. The EAR sends military aid to the Pakistani Independence Army.

The Eurasian Federation begin building the Verdun military base to protect future colonial assets in the area.

The Eurasian Federation is forced to retreat from Pakistan, allowing the EAR to set up the Protectorate state of Pakistan, in the name of maintaining stability in the region.

CE 85

Cagalli Yula Athha steps down as Chief Representative of Orb, naming as her successor Space Assets Minister Rondo Mina Sahaku. Cagalli is invited to stay on as cabinet member in charge of foreign policy.

CE 86

As part of a great humanitarian project, Chief Representative Rondo Mina Sahaku proposes the construction of a pair of great space elevators, to allow easier civilian travel between Earth, the lunar settlements, and the colonies. It is projected that the Babel Project would be complete by CE 100, in time to celebrate the Centennary of Cosmic Era.

Most of the other Earth-bound nations agree to sponsor the project, the Oceanic Union, East Asian Republic and Eurasian Federation being particularly enthusiastic. In space, Chairman Clyne agrees to have PLANT sponsor it as well, building the orbital relay station and spaceport, and Copernicus City agrees to sponsor the lunar elevator, along with the Atlantic Federation and PLANT. Commercial interests on Mars also agree to sponsor the project. The rest of the year is spent squabbling over where the space elevator should be.

The first civillian colony at L3, now named as the Vierge One, is fully operational. The families of the construction crews settle there as they begin work on the other colonies. Eight are projected to be built.

The location of the Babel Elevator is chosen. It is to be built on old Giga Float. The Earth Alliance agrees to allow Giga Float to become neutral territory, a special administrative region managed by a council of representatives from all the sponsor nations, with a high council on which the representatives from the Earth Alliance, PLANT, and Orb, would be the chief councilors.

Construction of the Babel Space Elevator begins with the commencement of the construction of the Babel base station.
The Atlantic Federation, PLANT and Copernicus City begin construction of the Baruch lunar space elevator, with the start of the construction of the central base station at L1, in halo orbit around the moon.

PLANT begins gathering resource asteroids from the Asteroid Belt to begin the construction of the Skyhook orbital relay station, which is to be placed in geosynchronous orbit over the Babel base station, and the Baruch lunar space elevator.

Research into constructing a viable cable linking the Earthbound and orbital stations begins.

An accident at the Vierge Four construction site results in a loss of many lives, and the partially operational Vierge Four is rendered damaged, and cannot be further completed due to structural complications that would arise. The same occurs with Vierge Five later in the year. Many believe it to be the work of the Atlantic Federation or the East Asian Republic, who fear the money being drained from them by the colony construction project.

Construction of the Skyhook relay station begins. The famous “Skyhook Umbrella,” a shell of lightwave barriers shielding the construction site from meteor and micrometeorite strikes is activated.

The EAR complete the Tarrycart polar station at Mercury, and the Han space station at Venus.

CE 89

PLANT physicist Dr Yuriev Nikolai proposes the idea of using Phase Shift technology to strengthen existing materials enough to use as a cable.

Orb begins construction of several space colonies, designated the Heliopolis-II cluster, at L3, the site of the original Heliopolis colony.

A research team on the Babel Project test out Dr Nikolai’s theory, constructing a phase-shift coated tether and running the experiment over a course of six months. The experiment proves a great success.

CE 91

Construction of the Baruch Station is complete – the tether and receiving stations on the moon begin construction.

CE 92

The construction of the Babel base-station is complete. Construction of the climbers and the tether begins.

CE 93

An incident in the manufacturing plants which are producing the phase-shift tether materials cause a delay in the construction of the tether and the Earth elevator.

CE 94

The Vierge Colonies at L3 become fully operational, becoming the jewel in the Eurasian Federation's crown, and an incredibly source of revenue for the power.


CE 95

The first colony of the Heliopolis II cluster is complete, and people begin migrating to this newest frontier.

CE 96

As part of the Babylon Project, the Ares Republic proposes the construction of several Voiture Lumiere facilities that could save costs on fuel and cut travel time. The DSSD is contracted to construct a pair of Urenbeck SHPL (Super High Powered Laser) facilities at L4 and in space near Mars itself. Mars begins an aggressive commercial campaign on Earth to promote interplanetary travel and trade to encourage the build-up of an interstellar trading industry in the Earthsphere in anticipation of the increased travel between the two planets.

CE 97

The East Asian Republic moves to dispatch a military convoy, the Qua Sinh Nhat convoy, to the Debris Belt, hoping to annex some territory. In press terms, it is claiming that this convoy is retrieving a lost ship in the Debris Belt. This convoy defects, taking over the decommissioned Liangshan base and then repelling the East Asian forces that subsequently come to try to punish them for desertion. This results in the emergence of the Liangshan faction, which keeps the area around the Debris Belt a lawless area, and creating many free ports for mercenaries to come, and for fugitives to find sanctuary in.

CE 98

The Skyhook station is completed, and furnishing begins. It officially begins operations December 1st, CE 98.

Isaiah Knight is almost killed in a car-bombing in Durban, arranged by a rogue Combine intelligence group known as the Intelligence Convergence Group. He assumes the identity of his recently deceased best friend, Anastasius Focht. Aloysius Knight orders the ICG disbanded soon after.

CE 99

The Ares Republic suppresses another rebellion, this time in the moons of Jupiter where it raced with the Atantic Federation to claim as many moons as possible.

CE 100

The entire Earthsphere celebrate the Centennial of the Cosmic Era. Hostilities are put aside for most of the year as many consider the magnitude of the milestone that they have celebrated.

The first day of CE 100 is celebrated with the activation of the two space elevators, with the commissioning of the Babel and Baruch base stations, and the Skyhook relay station. The first passengers on the space elevator are Chairman Yamato-Clyne and her husband Admiral Yamato-Clyne, as well as Chief Representative Sahaku, and other dignitaries from the Earth Alliance and Copernicus.

The Centennary Project, under the auspices of Chairman Lacus, contracts the DSSD to help PLANT secretly develop a faster-than-light drive. After turning over recently declassified materials from the PLANT archives, they stumble upon the Eldridge Experiment conducted in CE 72, resulting in the appearance of three strange units which were used as the basis for ZAFT’s then next-generation Millenium Series line of MS.
They attempt to repeat the experiment, but this time, a huge asteroid, as well as many exotic MS, a sole white and blue mobile suit among them, all still very much functional, appears. Using exotic weaponry, the Eldridge is destroyed and they escape. The results are classified top-secret, and sealed away. The Centennary Project is abandoned after such disastrous first results.

CE 101

The two Urenbeck SHPL facilities become fully operational, and come online. To herald this, the first interplanetary passengers to travel between the two stations are Vergil Fanel, and the head of the DSSD.

CE 102

The Republic and the Atlantic Federation conducts unofficialy skirmishes at the Jovian sector to test each other's mettle. None of this was reported back to Earth or revealed to the public.

A battle breaks out between mercenary forces and ZAFT defence forces and allied forces over the possession of the Sesquicentennary. The Atlantic Federation insert a strike team into the ship, managing to steal a portion of the data before retreating. Liangshan forces try for the ship, but are beaten back. The Orb ship Illumination attempts to destroy the Sequicentennary but is stopped by the intervention of ZAFT and Ares forces.
Joachim Knight challenges Anastasius Focht to a Circle of Equals duel, questioning his command. Joachim loses.
The Mayu helps escort the Sesquicentennary to Armoury 04.

February
Razor Salber is forced to join the crew of the Mayu.
Mercenary James Starwind arrives at the Kaoshiung mass driver and travels towards the Artemis space fortress. Promptly assigned a mission, he is sent with a supply convoy to the Ragnarok supply base on the moon for a supply run. On their return, they come across the Mayu heading towards the Debris Belt, being attacked by pirates enroute. The two groups almost engage in battle. On his return to Artemis, he meets Julie Hockham and Rebecca Gale to join their mercenary group, naming it the Crimson Knights.
The Ohio arrives at the Goddard Jupiter base to deliver the data stolen from the Sesquicentennary. They shortly after begin an initiative to begin constructing new mobile weaponry and associated technology based on the data in stolen from the Sesquicentennary.
The Combine and the Ares Republic begin diplomatic talks regarding combining military assets. A unit of Ares personnel are inserted into a special unit lead by Anastasius Focht. Shuttles from the Atlantia land at the Combine base in Louis Trichardt. Ghanima, Leon and Vergil Fanel are taken on a tour of the Combine's capital.

Liangshan raids a Eurasian convoy, taking one of the cargo ships containing Hyperion Daggers.
A stealth force leads an unsuccessful raid on a military construction site on Onogoro Island in Orb.
The Neo Venus mercenary group fights off Liangshan raiders around the Atlantic Federation sector of the Debris Belt.
At a research outpost near Armoury 04, called the Observatory, Kira observes the activation of a new power source - the Minovsky nuclear fusion reactor. They shortly begin testing the limits of this new reactor, Kira utilising a fusion-reactor fitted ZAKU Phantom with a Providence wizard pack. The Sesquicentennary is moved to Armoury 07 to be dismantled for further examination.
The Washington, President Shrub's personal carrier, leaves Goddard and returns to Earth. The Ohio is refitted with Minovsky fusion reactors.
The Illumination engages in a border skirmish with Earth Alliance vessels around Heliopolis II.
President Shrub of the Atlantic Federation secretly contacts Precentor-Martial Aloysius Knight to arrange a conference.
After fighting smugglers and raiders in the Debris Belt, the Mayu returns to Skyhook for resupply.

April
The Mayu heads out into the Debris Belt to hunt the ghost-MS plaguing a particular sector. Razor's Doomsday is shredded, but with the generosity of Shinn Asuka, is able to rebuild it.
The Crimson Knights' ship, the Escapade, and the Drifting Wind's modified Nelson-class ship, Cascade,[i] leave Artemis.
At Goddard research base, the Atlantic Federation begin limited production of their first Minovsky-powered mobile suit, the GATX-178E Gundam Mk II. They also begin preliminary combat trials.
The [i]Ohio
leaves Goddard for Earth. Its first job is watching the secret conference between Precentor-Martial Knight and President Shrub aboard the SACS Errant Venture, watched by several ships, Combine and Atlantic Federation, among them the SACS Gorgon, where most of the Harbingers are stationed. They agree to a non-aggression pact between the two nations and a technology sharing program. The conference is broken up by the appearance of several Ares-paid mercenary ships, utilising the latest in Combine technology. Mysteriously, the mercenary ships self-destruct soon after.
Armoury 07 Incident - Liangshan forces end up stealing the Sesquicentennary. Ships taking part include the Orb-affiliated Illumination, the Stellar Butterfly group's Mayu, Drifting Wind's Cascade, and the Crimson Knights' Escapade.
After the incident, the Mayu travels to Maius 5 to refuel and resupply. The Cascade and the Escapade are called to Eurasia's Verdun base.
PLANT and the Ares Republic begin diplomatic talks regarding military alliances and free ports.
Aloysius Knight takes President Shrub and a small entourage on a tour of the Combine's most advanced research facility, Iron Gate.

The Combine open a diplomatic embassy in Washington.
Mercenary raid on the Archazel Atlantic Federation base.
Anti-Ares terrorists attack the L4 Urenbeck SHPL facility, the Harbingers unit take part in its defence.
Jaquleene Davis, having left the Illumination, and the care of her brother, fights as a freelance mercenary against pirates operating in Combine waters. She meets up with a mercenary named Xander.
President Shrub and Precentor-Martial Knight both travel to Ares for the diplomatic summit being arranged by Van. Flay Yamato-Clyne is reassigned to the Harbingers unit as an observer.
Lacus Clyne presents her case for extrasolar exploration to the governing council of the Ares Republic.
Corsair attack on the Tirpitz base, suspect Orb involvement. During the battle, the Eurasians are forced to reveal their new trump card, a new type of carrier with reinforced frontal shielding. Jaime Scholz, working with the crew of the Illumination, dies of her wounds after the battle.
Combine Admiral Nonde-Desai is assassinated by unknown forces, creating a power schism within the Combine, exacerbated by Precentor-Martial Knight's absence.

June
The ZAFT, Atlantic Federation and Combine delegations to Mars arrive.
An Ares battlestar and monitoring station in Ares' sector of the asteroid belt are attacked and destroyed by unknown parties.
The Stellar Butterfly group aids in the patrol of the construction sites of several new PLANT colonies. One of the construction sites, in the early stages of construction, is destroyed.
The beginning of the Irktusk Revolution as socialist soldiers take over the industrial city of Irktusk. The East Asians send a military convoy as aid, amongst them one of their latest models, the GATX-125E Double Strike.
The Mayu travels to Skyhook and docks there, entering storage as the crew take the orbital elevator down and travel to Gibraltar. The Cascade and the Escsapade set out from Tirpitz for Skyhook, intending to take part in putting down the Irktusk rebellion, as does the Neo Venus group.
The Illumination makes re-entry to Earth after docking at Skyhook to conduct refits and repairs, before joining the Irktusk campaign.
Chancellor Danglars is ousted in a vote of no confidence. Busoni is installed in his place as Chancellor of the Eurasian Parliament.
In Olympus, the capital of the Ares Republic, Isaiah Knight has an attempt on his life by an operative believed to be from the ICG. Surprisingly, after the incident, Precentor-Martial Knight demands the assassin's body and all related evidence. Shortly after, Isaiah Knight proposes to Flay Yamato. She accepts.

July
The Stellar Butterfly group transit to a large converted cargo plane owned by the group, the Green Fairy, and travel to Irktusk, as Eurasia begins its offensive against the rebel city.
Latona Tsuchevsky is inserted into Irktusk.
Eurasian forces begin Operation Sea Lion under the command of General Fernand Mondego, the retaking of Irktusk from the well-armed socialist separatists, marshalling their forces at the nearby Novokuznetsk base. The EAR send aid to the separatists.
The Eurasians begin their campaign with a spearhead attackon the city outskirts. Against the Eurasians' protests, the Combine send a small force of Preybirds to aid them, led by Major Jan ter Horst, which fly right into the battle. Jaq and Xander take part in the rebels' defences, as the Green Fairy gets caught in the crossfire enroute.
A small Liangshan unit, hiding incognito, join the Eurasians after hearing the news of East Asian aid to the socialist rebels.
After they arrive at the rebel base, Shinn soon persuades the leader or the rebellion, Leonov, to allow him to take command, and also begins training the rebel soldiers.
The diplomatic summit in Olympus begins to breaks up prematurely as Precentor Martial Knight is drawn away by internal strife in the Combine nation, with Combine separatists take over the Durban nuclear reactor, others quickly follow, returning to Earth. Knight returns via the SHPL facility, by Van Fanel's generosity in pulling some strings to allow the Combine delegation to return as fast as possible. He leaves behind three members of his security detail, Majors Saffire Aurion-Revan, Lee Swaggard, and Strife Revan, to look after Flay Yamato.
The battlestar Atlantia also prepares to leave for Earth, with the Harbingers unit on board, as well as the atmospheric carrier Icarus. It departs via the Urenbeck SHPL facility at Deimos.
Knight solves his problem in the simplest way - destroy the nuclear reactor that the terrorists had been occupying with a surgical strike from their hunter-killer submarine Scinfaxi, firing two plasma yield nuclear warheads, 'clean' nuclear missiles which have much-reduced nuclear fallout. The use of these two warheads signify the first use of nuclear weaponry since the Second Bloody Valentine War. Precentor-Martial Knight is quick to point out that the Combine has no expansionist intentions. Durban enters an anarchic state, with riots quickly being contained by Combine security forces, and other cities running on emergency power after the removal of a critical power source.
Lacus ends up preaching to the choir, her speech interrupted by the news of the Combine's actions. She and Kira immediately depart Ares, intending to return to the Earthsphere for damage control and to further monitor the situation. The rest of the delegations from Earth quickly follow.

August
The Prometheus returns to the Earthsphere, docking at Aprilius One.
The Atlantia returns to the Earthsphere, with a second battlestar. The second stays on garrison duty at the Urenbeck facility at L4 while the Atlantia travels towards Earth.
Isaiah Knight is set to Archazel base to run test flights on the first results of the alliance between the Atlantic Federation and the Combine - the Preybird Mk V 'Valkyire,' flying it back to Earth. Unfortunately, due to malfunctions, he has to engage Combine defence forces, as well as Harbinger units from the nearby Atlantia, disabling any units, among them Sgt Samantha Knight's Preybird, concussing its pilot.
Lacus invites Precentor-Martial Knight to meet her in Mars.
Socialist forces, consisting mainly of mercenary forces, including units from Stellar Butterfly, as well as Jaq, Xander, and Latona, take a vital choke point in the city, allowing them to go on the offensive and slowly push back Eurasian forces. Latona Tsuchevsky is shot down, and has her Murasame trashed. After the battle, she acquires a replacement mobile suit, a 'second-hand' ZAKU Warrior.
Isaiah, breveted to Brigadier General, is sent with the Harbingers unit to the Irktusk front, to aid the beleaguered Combine units there, and with express orders to eliminate Latona Tsuchevsky.
Against orders, Samantha Knight sneaks into the Irktusk rebel enclave.

September
Sam finds Latona, after almost six weeks of searching and hiding. After a night of deviant (but intense) sexual adventures, she also gets to know Razor very intimately. Leon, feeling the experiences through the link, also enters the rebel enclave, against orders. He immediately goes after Latona as soon as he enters the enclave. Confronting her in one of the shower blocks, Leon is captured by Shinn, noticing the awfully familiar, suspicious looking individual asking around the base. Leon is sent into solitary confinement, and Latona is 'invited' to join Stellar Butterfly by Shinn.
Samantha quietly slinks out of the enclave and back to the Combine area of the Eurasian camp.
In a conclusive battle, the Eurasians stage another attack on Irktusk, intending to cut right through to the rebel HQ using a Destroy unit. It is stopped by rebel and mercenary units, and Eurasian forces are forced to withdraw from the city after massive EAR reinforcements come to help the rebels take the city.
During the battle, Latona helps Leon attempt to break out, but he is stopped and recaptured by Shinn, and imprisoned inside a large footlocker inside the Green Fairy.
Flay Yamato announces that she is pregnant to Isaiah Knight.
Joachim Knight reveals to Mara Yamashita that he is part of the ICG, after having her join it.
Samantha Knight is somehow taken from the Atlantia's infirmary and sent careening through the atmosphere in a Viper transatmospheric fighter, with a dead co-pilot, coming in over Irktusk. She is saved by Ghanima Fanel, whose unit is shot down by Xander Zenome as they enter the battlefield.
Flay Yamato has an assassination attempt on her life at Aprilius One. Isaiah Knight immediately comes to her side from the Irktusk front soon after.
Shiki Kuromeru joins the crew on the Green Fairy. Meanwhile, Shinn sends a ransom message to the Atlantia for Leon. Precentor-Martial Knight also has Latona Tsuchevsky contacted about negotiating for Leon's release.
The Green Fairy prepares to leave Irktusk, Shinn's job of coordinating the resistance against the Eurasian forces now largely over with the arrival of massive reinforcements from East Asia. Jaq hitches a ride with the Green Fairy. Before Stellar Butterfly leaves, a delegation from the Atlantia come down for a hostage exchange, taking Leon back in exchange for a large, undisclosed sum of money.
A fleet of ships from the East Asia colonies around Mercury arrive in the Earthsphere.
Isaiah Knight challenges Samantha Knight to a Circle of Equals duel. He wins, but does not finish her off, and instead leaves her in a critical condition. She is rushed to surgery.
The Green Fairy departs Irktusk, headed for Graskop. Enroute, Latona engages a BuCUE whose pilot, Nina Fujiwara, turns out to be an old acquaintance of Razor and Axl's, and comes aboard the Green Fairy.
An unknown group, with but four mobile suits of exotic and unknown origin, attack the Ares Urenbeck SHPL facility at L4, causing a massive amount of damage, heavily destroying the laser and interplanetary docking facility, and heavily damaging a battlestar. The Ares military, publicly humiliated, demands the identity of the culprits so that they can extract retribution. The Atlantia comes in to aid the of the garrison, but arrives too late.
Xander, operating freelance, destroys an Ares supply outpost near the Irktusk front.
Yzak's group, Joule Military Solutions, comes down to Earth for a mission against a Combine facility.
The Drifting Wind, Crimson Knights, and Illumination groups join a convoy headed for the Combine.
A fleet departs from Mars to Earth, ostensibly to protect Martian assets within the Earthsphere.
The Combine hunter-killer submarine Scinfaxi sinks the East Asian submarine Hailung.
Marianne Laperriere joins the Crimson Knights.
Various mercenary groups begin to arrive in Graskop, ready for a big job patrolling the sectors around the area.
Jaq successfully completes the test-firing of a new weapon system, and sends the information to the Ares military.
Precentor-Martial Knight speaks with Supreme Chairwoman Clyne and President Shrub about action against East Asia, but is frustrated by their stubbornness not to move until East Asia makes an open strike against them. He ends up speaking to Chief-Representative Sahaku of Orb about offering Combine military support, leading to the two discussing the possibility of a non-aggression pact.
Razor and Latona, on errands from Shinn, run into Latona's parents. They return to her family residence for dinner, at the insistence of Latona's parents. Soon after the beginning of the dinner, Latona storms out in disgust at the treatment of her parents.
Van Fanel contacts Lacus about the fact something is going to happen, receiving a very frosty reception. He does the same for Kira, who acknowledges the (somewhat obvious) warning.
Athrun is sent to Orb on a diplomatic mission.
Julie Hockamm of the Crimson Knights is killed in a mobile suit accident testing out a new type of atmospheric thruster.
The Nietzschan Njaus is heavily injured exiled from his clan. Shortly after his recovery, he joins the Ares military.

October
The battle of Iron Gate. During the battle, Bao Xu, now revealed as the real Anastasius Focht, steals a large amount of data and flees.
The Combine declare Ares 'persona non grata,' and eject all Ares personnel. Shortly after, there is a confrontation between the Ares battlestar Atlantia and the new Combine superdreadnought Lucifer, but it passes with little consequence. Razor and Latona leave Stellar Butterfly for a while.
Mercenary pilot Ciel was framed, and defected to PLANT.
Athrun returns to PLANT with news from Chief Representative Mina Sahaku.
The Flay Yamato Incident - a face-off arose when Ares brought a small fleet of ships to PLANT's borders, provoking the deployment of PLANT's Battlefleet Alpha, supported by the nearby Combine vessel Lucifer. Admiral Yamato and Chairman Clyne, both distraught over the very recent death of their daughter, are provoked by the actions of the Ares ship commanders into almost starting a battle, but Ares backs off at the last minute. Lacus issues an order to expel all Ares diplomatic personnel from PLANT, declaring them 'persona non grata.'
Aloysius Knight and Mina Rondo Sahaku begin diplomatic talks of an alliance between Orb and the Combine. Meanwhile, dignitary Alanna Mordechai approaches Atlantic Federation President Shrub about a request to use the Atlantic Federation shipyards to construct Combine ships.
Flay Yamato, in the Combine, is detained under house arrest and kept there, and a tracker implanted in her to monitor her movements at Chairman Clyne's request.
Mercenary groups Drifting Wind and Crimson Knights return to space, travelling to the Vierge Colonies for a job.
A combined Combine-ZAFT fleet, with auxiliary mercenary forces, gathered and combated, and destroyed, a rogue ZAFT fleet intent on defecting to Ares.
Orb mercenary forces destroy an unknown submarine on the edges of Orb waters.

November
Ares forces attack the Liangshan base. Liangshan responds by sending out two of its latest experimental units, based on research data from the stolen database, and an experimental new ship also based on the database, as well as the archive ship itself, retrofitted with weaponry. Ares is able to steal the ship and take it back to Mars.
Leaders of PLANT, Orb, the Atlantic Federation, and the Combine gather at the Ame-no-Mihashira space station for a diplomatic summit. Invited are dignitaries from Liangshan, invited by Aloysius Knight. Isaiah Knight becomes the new Precentor-Martial, announced at the conference. A rogue ICG sleeper cell makes an assassination attempt on Isaiah Knight's life during a tour of the Ame-no-Mihashira station. During the diplomatic conference, President Shrub presents the idea of a grand alliance against Mars, which the others are receptive to.
The Orb vessel Illumination makes a diplomatic meeting with Ares representative Vergil Fanel, to discuss easing anti-Ares tensions.
Precentor-Martial Isaiah Knight is invited by Liangshan leader Admiral Gai to meet privately with him. They meet with a man, calling himself Mr Mass. Gai seems to be somewhat wary around Mr Mass. After the meeting, Isaiah travels to Orb.
Rebel forces take over the Ares battlestar Azure. During an Ares operation to try to retake the ship, the rebel-terrorists launch a nuclear missile and destroy an orbital defence base on the surface of Mars. It is promptly destroyed after the launch, as priority changes from recapture to destruction.
On patrol from Heliopolis-II, the Illumination encounters and destroys the alleged pirate vessel Iron Pride. The Illumination is heavily damaged in the process, and is towed back to Heliopolis-II.
ZAFT conducts wargames operations at Armoury One, among which final testing of their first fusion-powered mass-production mobile suit occurs.
Eurasia and the Combine begin a joint spearhead offensive to retake Irktusk, complete with a huge drop operation. Under attack on two fronts after the Combine and Eurasian forces manage to find and use a hidden cache in the city force the East Asians to retreat.
An Ares convoy enters the Earthsphere, and is blockaded by forces from Orb, ZAFT, the Atlantic Federation and the Combine. Shortly after this event, President Shrub announces the existence of the nascent Terran Confederation.

December
ZAFT mercenary forces aid the Equatorial Union in hunting pirates.
President Shrub convenes another meeting to finalise the formation of the Terran Confederation.
A group of South American nations secede from the USSA and form a new confederation of nations calling itself the Independiente de las naciones de Amιrica del Sur (INAS), or Independent Nations of South America. As the first act of this confederation, they invade Panama to take control of a vital supply route.
Premier Gao of East Asia sends a message to Ares requesting aid in defending Panama.
Ares forces land incognito in Panama, quickly establishing a presence.
The Drifting Wind Incident, where unknown terrorists, possibly Martian, used the Drifting Wind mercenary group to attack Skyhook, and cause significant damage to the station. Several Eurasian security forces were killed in the process.

I've got a question about the mission packs. If you start off buying a pack for your selected MS, does that mean it has already been modified to use those packs or do you gain those upgrades later in the story?

Presumably already able to fit the mission packs - considering that those offering mission packs already have MS that are compatible with them - for instance wizard packs for the ZAKU and GOUF series, silhouettes for Impulse, etc.

Character's History: Grandparents, belonging to nobility, fled France fearing prosecution from Blue Cosmos; their only child married a female English refugee who had also fled to the PLANTs. They became the parents of Axl.
Grew up happily in Januarius 6. Trying to prove to his parents that he was able to make a living of his own, without their help, he enlisted into the ZAFT military at the age of 15, the same year as Razor Salber. Became a Redcoat and served as a Mobile Suit pilot for a number of years, before resigning and becoming a merchenary.
Later on, he started a merchenary group together with his former classmates Razor Salber and Nina Fujiwara.
Due to an ambush by renegade EA forces during a mission, they suffered heavy material losses, especially to their Mobile Suits, and this caused internal strife. But on one fatefull day, when the three of them were escorting a ZAFT military transport, the transport got ambushed by renegade EA forces.
This not only resulted in heavy casualties and damage to their MSes, but also severely injured Mia, when a heat whip slammed into the back of her MS. She still carries a large diagonal scar on her back.
Afterwards, the group got disbanded, with Nina hospitalized, and Axl blaming Razor for it.

Character's History: What Jaquleene remembers about her family life before the age of six is not pleasent. All canon characters of the Gundam Series that'll make an appearence will be under the control of either me or Night unless someone requested use for a scene.

Character's that'll make first appearence in the story will be some of the obvious ones, but of course the story isnt really about them, but our characters that are in it.

Those who r interested in joining the Ares Republic, which is my department, there r some things you have to know about it.

One the Mobile suits will be different that any sides and are origianl except for some Gundams designs.

Main units are based off the Orb Murasame types that can transform from a fighter mode to an MS mode. These are called Naritas

The Ares Republic space fleet has ships based off of Battlestar Galatica, the new series of course. These ships are large, tough and even without the shield technology, these things can take direct hits because unlike the gundam ship, they are built tough, armed with many beam cannons, rail guns, anti-fighter and anti-ship missiles, cruise missiles and are built with artifical gravity inside without a rotating section and inertial dampers to enable it for faster space travel, IE sublight engines. There are more than a hundred of these ships in the fleet, with twice as many support type ships and thousands of fighters and Mobile Suits in the armed forces. The Battlestars r the pride of the Republic fleet.

Please bear in mind that you'll need striker compatibility if you want to use the Akatsuki packs.

Technology

Beam technology

Beam weaponry usually consists of the accelerated projection of a mass of charged and superheated particles. If a mass of beam particles were to strike another mass of beam particles, same-charge repulsion would force the masses to repel each other. Beam weaponry has many applications.

Beam rifle

One of the most common forms of beam technology, the beam rifle consists of a charged particle reservoir (contained in the rifle itself), as well as a particle accelerator to project the mass of charged particles forward. The rifle connects into a power source, which powers the particle accelerator, as well as charging the particles and superheating them into a gaseous mass similar to plasma.
Depending on the degree of superheating the beams are subject to, the beams can be discharged as a larger, more energised and charged mass, leading to the sub-type of beam cannon.
There is a high rate-of-fire variant of the beam rifle, which overheats the weapon more quickly, due to the increased rate of fire of beam weaponry. However, as with all high rate-of-fire weaponry, the ability to spray fire makes it much harder to dodge.
Similarly, a shortened-barrel variant of beam rifle allows for compact storage, but the shortened barrel results in a reduced effective range. This however makes them very useful in shorter-ranged combat.
For close combat, there is also a beam scatter gun, which essentially is an array of smaller particle accelerators fire-linked by a firing computer, which fires many smaller beams out in one burst, creating a scatter-shot effect. The effective range is reduced, but at its optimal effective range, the beam scatter gun can be devastating.

Beam saber

Operating on a similar principle to the beam rifle, but instead of a particle accelerator, the gaseous mass is instead projected through an electromagnetic field to form a two-dimensional plane, or 'blade.' This has many applications, as the field can be altered to create different shapes.

Positron blasters

An extremely high-powered form of beam weaponry, that uses positrons exclusively instead of just charged particles. Creating and storing, as well as firing positrons safely, is an extemely energy-intensive endeavour, and until recently, MS-portable versions were not feasible in a mass-produced fashion.
Positron blasters fire a stream of highly energised positrons that contact electrons and annihilate each other in a matter-antimatter annihilation reaction, converting to a huge amount of energy and creating gamma radiation.
Positronic interference is one side-effect of firing positron weaponry in the atmosphere. Early positronic weaponry had to be used carefully in the atmosphere so as not to damage it, since the stream of positrons would disintegrate the atmosphere and create a brief vacuum, and if used profligately it would result in the decay of the atmosphere. In recent times, new advances have resulted in allowing positron weaponry to be fired safely in the atmosphere without fear of damaging it.

Mobile suit power plants

Most mobile suits are powered by an ultra-compact power plant that is a pressurised container with a large amount of energy condensed into it, termed a 'battery.' This energy, however, is relatively finite. The energy consumption rate of a mobile suit is one of the most important factors in its operation, since it dictates what a mobile suit can and can't carry feasibly. A standard battery is fine for most standard armaments such as beam sabers, beam rifles, conventional weaponry and basic defensive power systems such as trans-phase armour.

Upgraded batteries with higher energy density are available, which allow a mobile suit to operate for extended periods of time and allow it to carry heavier weapons and more power-consuming systems. Some weapons and systems require these upgraded batteries to work properly, as standard batteries would be drained too quickly by these weapons/systems to be properly effective in battle.

Hyper Deuterion Nuclear Reactor (HDNR)

Developed by ZAFT during the Second Valentine War, the Hyper Deuterion Nuclear Reactor is a new form of nuclear reactor which is seen as a balance between the problematic implementation of a nuclear reactor, and the energy limits of a battery power-plant.
Essentially, a high energy-density battery is connected to a small-scale nuclear reactor. The nuclear reactor is activated when the power in the battery falls below a certain level, and works to recharge the battery back up to full capacity on the fly. This essentially means that a mobile suit has an endless supply of energy, for as long as the nuclear reactor has fuel, the mobile suit can stay operational. However, with a high enough energy workload, the power management systems may kick in and deactivate all non-critical systems, meaning that the mobile suit cannot use any weapons or systems that draw a large amount of power, such as Phase Shift armour, or beam weaponry.
Although available on the grey market, the use of hyper deuterion reactors are subject to many safeguards to ensure that they cannot be turned into nuclear weapons easily, and are restricted items.

Photon recharge system

During biological research into plant photosynthesis, Ares biologists and biochemists were able to discover a way of reproducing the process for application in a mechanical setting. Essentially, a light sensitive surface, when impacted by photons, will cause a release of electrons.
In mobile suits, photon impact on the armour causes the release of electrons, which are sent to a positron reservoir where they collide with positrons and produce minuscule annihilation reactions. The subsequebt releease of energy is sent to capacitors which in turn store this energy. Sensors control when the system is active, and increase or restrict the floe of electrons into the positron reservoir. It is also equipped with a supplemental system where the pilot can choose to dump more electrons in from the battery supply of electricity, increasing the amount of annihilation reactions. However, additional power is required to ensure that the reactions are kept controlled and contained, so usually power from weapons is diverted to the containment field in the reservoir.

Mirage Colloid

A synthetic particle developed by the Atlantic Federation, which has various uses. Originally banned by the Treaty of Junius Seven, in the post-Second Bloody Valentine years it has seen commercial applications developed that have lifted the ban. In scientific applications, it has seen a possible application in creating a viable fusion reactor, as well as a potential for networking. It has various applications in military operations.

Stealth system

The first application of mirage colloid particles was its capability to bend light when a very high electrical charge was applied to it. This was first applied in the GATX-207 Blitz's stealth system, masking electromagnetic radiation coming from the source of the particles, which the particles were wrapped around. In MS-portable applications, the stealth system is only usable for a short period of time, before the MS runs out of colloid particles to spread and the ones held in cohesion by a magnetic field lose cohesion and decay due to the high amount of charge tearing the particle apart.

Geschmeidig Panzer

Another application of mirage colloid particles was found in that, by varying the amount of charge applied to the particles, the ability to bend EM radiation was different. This application was manifested in the less energy-intensive Geschmeidig Panzer system, which used colloid particles more economically. Movable electromagnets can vary the angle of deflection by changing the shape of the magnetic field. In a mobile suit, this is usually accomplished by onboard software which calculates the angle needed.

Virus spreader

It was found that colloid particles were able to carry information in an electronic format, and interface with conventional electronic computer systems. The first application of this was as the 'virus spreader,' which would allow the execution of electronic warfare in an age where long-range attacks were almost unusable. By transferring certain information packets to an onboard mobile suit's computer, it could be forced to do against the pilot's will, or cause the MOS to go into lockdown, depending on what the user wished to do.

Wings of Light/Voiture Lumiere

When exposed to neutrinos as well as a high electrical charge, mirage colloid particles, instead of bending EM radiation around the object, instead imitate the EM radiation (in the visible light spectrum) that was contacting it, creating an 'after-image' like holographic effect. The other application of colloid particles is to bend heat from a microwave projector back in, further superheating the propellent before it is expelled from the object, allowing for even greater acceleration.
In ship-based applications, the voiture lumiere system has a different application - a properly configured magnetic field will hold colloid particles in place, while exerting very minimal charge on the colloid particles, creating a solar sail and allowing for interstellar travel.

Anti-beam coating

A coating of a special substance that is resistant to the impact of particle beam weaponry - the substance is able to repel the charged and energised particles in beam weaponry, although the high amount of heat in beam weaponry usually burns off the coating quickly.

Mirror coating

A proprietary technology developed by Orb, the mirror coating system is an array of millions upon millions of tiny mirrors, coated with a special reflective material, that allows the capture and redirection of charged particles (along with their associated heat). Even positrons are deflected by the reflective material.

Phase Shift Armour (PSA)

A revolutionary MS defence system first rolled out in CE 70. This armouring system uses powerful electromagnetic fields to deflect physical strikes. Requiring a constant flow of electricity, the power of various magnetic fields, which are typically only a few millimeters away from the actual armour plating of a mobile suit, cause different refractions of visible-light EM radiation, allowing for the ability to determine the strength of the phase shift armour active by the colour - red for more powerful as the light is refracted less, and blue for less powerful as the light is refracted more.
These electromagnetic fields have also shown the capability to deflect other EM radiation such heat. Phase Shift Armour is even able to deflect beam weaponry, but the energy output required is too high, so to save energy, phase shift armour is configured to deactivate when it detects beam particle weaponry.

Trans-Phase armour (TPA)

A more economical version of Phase Shift armour, Trans-Phase armour only engages when the onboard software detects the an incoming attack, utilising the mobile suit's sensors. However, one limitation of Trans-Phase armour is that a computer-detection system has limitations, and the system has problems dealing with multiple simultaneous attacks.

Variable Phase Shift (VPS)

A user-customisable form of Phase Shift armour in which the voltage allocated to the system can be altered manually by the pilot. The pilot can create preset power settings beforehand and switch between them on the fly to conserve power depending on the situation.

Negative Phase Shift

A Combine invention, the Negative Phase Shift generator generates an electromagnetic field on the same frequency and wavelength as Phase Shift armour, the EM waves being emitted destructively interfering with the waves generated by the EM field of the PSA.
The strength of the EM field is also able to disrupt the coherence of the masses of beam particles, being able to dissipate the masses depending on its size. Similarly, it can also disrupt the quantum communication used by DRAGOON systems, and the magnetic fields which hold mirage colloid particles in place. However, activating this magnetic field requires a huge activation energy to bring the electromagnetic field up to proper strength.

Lightwave Barriers (LWB)

A protective field created by photons being energised, charged and held in place by a magnetic field. This creates a strong defensive barrier, which could resist most particle beam and kinetic attacks, as well as heat. Originally developed for fortification-scale defence by the Eurasian Federation, the Lightwave Barrier soon sees use in an MS-portable form.
However, lightwave barrier technology does have its flaws. Anti-beam measures, such as anti-beam coating, easily deflect the photons, since they are a form of energised particle. Similarly, due to same-charge repulsion principles, contact with another lightwave barrier would result in a distortion in the field, deflecting the particles and creating a 'hole' where the two particles contacted. In this case, the field with more kinetic energy (usually the attacker) would penetrate.

Armure Lumiere

A larger-scale version of the Lightwave barrier, first seen on the CATX-1/3 Hyperion. Projectors mounted around the MS allow it to project a full, roughly-spherical lightwave barrier. It has the same strengths and weaknesses as an ordinary lightwave barrier.

Beameater technology

An anti-beam technology developed by Ares in light of the ubiquitous use of beam weaponry. This system consists of a

Disconnect Remote Armament Group Overlook Operation Network (DRAGOON)

A wireless control system developed by ZAFT to control and guide remote weapons. The DRAGOON uses quantum communications via a secondary quantum computer system to relay information to the weapons, which carry out the instructions. While the power drain of the quantum system is significant, its effectiveness is similarly so, necessitating the installation of a nuclear reactor or equivalent power plant.
In some applications, instead of just one pilot, a mobile weapon is piloted by several pilots, which allow for pilots to be dedicated to the role of maneuvering remote weapons, instead of placing it all in the hands of a single pilot, which on top of maneuvering, offence and defence, place a great burden on the pilot's concentration.
Originally requiring a pilot with an incredibly well-developed sense of spatial awareness, the DRAGOON system was eventually refined to the point where even ordinary pilots, with a little training, would be able to use the system effectively, although increased spatial awareness is a significant help.
Another drawback of this system is that the remote pods are usually incredibly heavy and require too much thrust to sustain flight on Earth for it to be effective, leaving it as use solely in space.

Gunbarrel system

A similar system to the DRAGOON system, the Gunbarrel system was originally developed earlier for mobile armours. Operating along the same principles as the DRAGOON system, but on a smaller scale, the Gunbarrel system allows a mobile weapon to be armed with up to four (usually) heavily armed weapon pods. These pods are attached to their host by a wire, which feeds sensory, guidance and firing information between the weapon pods and the host.
While gunbarrel pods are more heavily armed than DRAGOONs to compensate for the fact that fewer of them are fitted to a mobile weapon than DRAGOON pods are, they possess an advantage over DRAGOONs in that they are usually configurable to be usable in the atmosphere, since they have room to mount maneuvering atmospheric thrusters.
However, the most glaring weakness of gunbarrels is that once the wire connecting the gunbarrel and the host is cut, the gunbarrels become worthless. That aside, they are also fairly complex to maneuver along with standard operations and procedure in a mobile weapon, so only highly skilled pilots are usually able to use them well.

Deuterion Beam Energy Transfer System

A ZAFT-developed power transfer system that is able to extend a mobile suit's operation time by allowing it the capability of recharging its power from a friendly vessel. Mobile suits must be specially developed to be able to accept this system, among which the Impulse, Gaia, Abyss and Chaos series feature.

Voiture Lumiere recharge capability

Using advances developed by Junk Guild and Ares scientists, voiture lumiere systems are able to recharge each other utilising a system similar to the Deuterion system, in which the voiture lumiere transfers energy via a microwave projector which can be configured for energr transferral capabilities.

Mission pack systems

Originally implemented in the GAT-X105 Strike, the mission pack system allows for quick and easy armament of a mobile suit for a particular role, to aid in logistics, and because mission packs are cheaper than the buying the individual weapons they come with.

Striker mission pack

The standard used by Orb and the Earth Alliance, the striker mission pack allows for changing of mission packs between missions, and has a wide selection of mission packs.
Although it is possible to change mission packs in battle, it is incredibly difficult since they are not designed to be changed in battle.

Wizard mission pack

ZAFT's mass-production standard, created for use with the Millenium Series mobile suits. There is less of a selection of Wizard packs around, but each one is ensured to have a guarantee of quality. They can only be changed between missions, since securing bolts must be removed that cannot be done by the pilot on the fly.

Silhouette mission pack

A special mission-pack standard developed for altering armament on the fly, the silhouette mission pack is only compatible with the Impulse line of mobile suits.
Requiring special launch and storage facilities, the Silhouette standard allows for great flexibility in battle, but due to the extra parts, are harder to maintain, and also more power-hungry.

The Akatsuki's packs were considered striker packs.

I've decided to put these in for the hell of it - since you won't be able to use these in the early game, I figure it would be a good reward for staying in.

And as for the Republic, consider.
Excalibur is the creator and "leader" so to speak, of that faction. It was your choice to join him. Otherwise, if you think it's unbalanced, you're quite free to change your affiliation.

Everyone are mercenaries, but you have to pick a faction to sign your contract with, so to speak.

The "mercenary group affiliated with" bit is where you can stick your own merc group's name in (or Serpent Tail if you're fighting for Orb).

What dose beam gun mean anything under a beam cannon? What’s consider a beam gun and a beam cannon There are a lot of beam weapons high-energy beam rifles, (gundams) beam rifles (daggers) beam sub machine guns (Hyperion) even beam pistols.
