I was going to suggest moving this to the Side Story discussion thread, but I guess a thread for 00F specifically is alright, as it is somewhat the main side story.

I'm assuming he's a prisoner of some kind.

Perhaps a bargain.

Celestial Being busted him out of prison or wherever he was in exchange for his piloting abilities(With a few restrictions on his freedom).

I suppose when they use Astraea (Exia's prototype, right?), people confuse that with Exia, and think that it's Celestial Being.

Actually, Fon is the 2nd criminal to be given the position of Gundam Meister. One of the 1st Gen Meisters alongside Chall was also a criminal. Both are forced to wear explosive collars, just in case.

Yay! Lucky me that I'm Chinese. But dammit, they use some complicated words.... I'll just have to attend 2 more years of chinese school on Saturdays...

Its funny, I didn't expect that Echo would be a Gundam meister. He seems more like someone who would be a ship operator or something. I do hope he gets a chance to pilot a Gundam in the future, as it would be interesting to see how skilled he is.

Do anyone thinks that Fon's analysis of Graham's Flag have any truth in it? I mean the side stories are meant to explain things that will look awkward if it was done in the main story, but some of the part are really not convincing after watching recent episodes.

Summary For Chapter 2:

-The chapter starts up with the scene where the black flag first appears.
-Then Fon and Eco are shown going through the statistics of that battle.
-Eco seems impressed(feared) of the performance of the Flag while Fon just yawn at it.
-Eco scolded Fon for not being serious as one of their jobs is to analyse CB's missions.
-Eco mention the speed and the weapon if the Flag could threaten Fereshte as well.
-Fon countered that the early shots the Flag released are for rapid fire so it is normal to fire so fast, but the last shot was a charged shot which will need time to charge. If the first charged was evaded, there will be no chance for another shot like that.
-Eco doubt that Fon could see that clearly but Fon says that he is different, he can sees everything in the world clearly no matter what.(never really get that actually)
-Eco mention that at least the 2 times speed need their attention, Fon says that the flight part of the Flag was switched with a larger one, but even so increasing the speed until 2 times is impossible, so the only explanation is that the armor is weakened to decrease the weight and the it only carries very little amount of fuel, all for the sake of weight. He follows by praising Exia that hides underwater because the Flag can't pursue anymore.
-Then Fon commented that Eco is a failed member of CB. Eco countered that even so the Gundam are not totally built for underwater combat so he won't go underwater if he is piloting it.
-Chall enters and give a new mission involves getting the Gundam underwater. Fon reminds that Eco do not like underwater so Chall sends Fon on the mission again with Sadalsuud F, Eco just watches as his chance of sortie gets away again.
-Then we are shown the Dynames Torpedo sniping underwater targets near the HRL's elevator. Fon revise his mission objective and it is to support Gundam Dynames. The reason for the support is that Dynames has been there for a few times so the HRL may comes out with a method to counter it.
-Back in Fon's cockpit his handcuff is released and he laughed wickedly telling Lockon to show him his power(actually the message never gets to Lockon)
-On the land Lockon fires a torpedo to the target but the target release some substance interfering the sensors so the torpedo can't hit the target.
-Lockon plans to retreat when there is no way to snipe them. But Fon is not happy and plans to kill him for being so boring. Fon thinks he should replace Lockon and change the world.
-Then Fon calm down and use the Sadalsuud F which have improved sensor to get the positions of the enemy and send it to Veda.
-On Lockon's side Haro alert that it has found the enemy so Lockon fires and destroy the enemy. Both Lockon and Fon declare mission accomplished, Fon comments that Lockon is a good boy that entertains him.
-The chapter end with Fon's classic evil laugh and Hanayo opens up to show a pair of freaking eyes.

I'll try to get the chapter 3's summary up ASAP, by the way the chinese scanlation is here.

Can anybody start discussing about this forum thread again? I feel that this forum thread is very important because we are given further insights into the main Gundam 00 story..
