| Release date May 19, 2009. Also, it's saying first two discs of Season 1, are they going to *expletive not written* us around and only put 3-4 episodes to a disc? |

If by "expletive not written" you mean "treat us the same as fans in Japan," then yes, you're probably right. After all of the complaining and unlawful downloading that fans do in the name of getting stuff the same way people in Japan do, I'd figure that this wouldn't be an ethical problem for most in the online community.
EDIT: For those willing to do their own research, here's the links to Amazon.co.jp's listings for Gundam 00 DVD releases. Note that the "new" price offered directly from Amazon's warehouses are, even on-sale, hovering around 4000円--a pittance compared to what North American fans have to pay for four episodes.

Actually, it's five episodes on the first disc and four episodes on the second. Five episodes = 125 minutes on Disc 1, and four episodes = 100 minutes on Disc 2, which adds up to 225 minutes.
IMO, it's stupid, since Episode 9 leaves you on a cliffhanger and Episode 10 concludes the two parter. But that's business for you.

They will release all the episodes in "Parts" first, so expect to wait at least a couple of years before boxsets come out.
I know that for Gundam Seed Destiny, the first DVDs didn't come out until March of 2006 and the boxsets for those were just recently released, so yeah, a couple of years probably.

The only difference here pretty much is textless opening/ending and without the annoying commercials that GSS leaves out right?
And I'm curious too whether they'll release blu-ray or not for this series. |

I thought BD was the entire reason that Gundam OO was made at such a High Def to begin with?
1080p disks sure would be sweet. And I don't even have A) a BD player and B) my own HD TV. |

No, the one posted by mike22 is a bootleg. That's pretty clear by the fact that it's region free and has Chinese subtitles.
I highly encourage everyone to wait until Bandai's release as that's the official version in the US/Canada region. It'll be of higher quality and have the English dub. It's also a legit version, which is nice.

Are there any blu-rays coming out at all???
I am asking this cause right now I am transcoding the the blu-ray s1 and making eng audio fit in it... So you guy will have hd s1 with eng audio. I am still working out the few bugs for ep one just started today if anyone is interested lmk I should be done with it by tomorrow or the next day. my email address is trunks9_us@yahoo.com email if anyone is interested in this. Again like I said it will will be from the blu-ray rip and with eng audio. I have only known to file the size down a lil but it is still in hd. |
